Bridesmaid Thank You

Dear God gave us, the perfect Day
The drink did flow
The Music did play

Such perfect weather, the sky was brimming
With sunshine as,
The birds were singing

A handsome Bridegroom, a wonderful catch
A beautiful day
With Bridesmaid to match

You’ve always been there, throughout the years
We’ve shared our hopes
And also our fears

Tears of joy; our friendship won’t end
Today you’ve shown
You’re a remarkable friend

The spread was perfect, and cake so sweet
But you dear Bridesmaid
Made our day so complete

Gastroenterologist's Birthday...

What with the roof down on your ragtop
You come to work with sweptback hair
Cutting a dash as your doppelganger
The infamous Doc. Kildare

But unlike your famous namesake
You enjoy your day job more
Well who in their right mind wouldn’t?
With all those colons to explore

Most people use a camera
For family pics with Dad and Mum
But JDR Rose prefers to film
A sore ulcerated tum

And an ‘A(n)nus Horribilis’
To most means ‘Terrible Year’
But to JDR Rose it doesn’t
It means ‘Stay away from the rear’

But you’re not just an excellent Doctor
(no, you mean far more as a friend)
Nor just a Gastroenterologist
To your patients on the mend

So Happy Birthday from us all
Let’s all raise a glass of wine
We wish you the very best of health
From the staff at Station 9

Father of the Bride (A loving father saying "bye" to his daughter)

The first time I laid eyes on you
I knew right from the start
Whatever life may throw at us
We could never be apart

Nothing I had felt prior
Could ever have prepared me for
The feeling of total love I had
For this baby who I adore

But that was just the beginning
There were more events to come
From changing your nappy at bed times
To tucking you in with Mum

In later years, we had our rows
And sometimes we would shout
But it never really took too long
To remember what life’s about

The first time that you entered this world
A promise I did make
Never would I let you go
But that promise I must now break

For today I stand most proudly
As you marry your man most dear
Your Dad remembers his little girl
And can’t help but shed a tear

As now I give you away daughter
Of my being - you are the core
I never thought it possible
Another man could love you more
